Alabama Wedding & Event Vendors… Interested in joining ALWEP?

Founded in 2003, Alabama Wedding and Event Professionals (ALWEP) is a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization which seeks to further the wedding and special event industry in Alabama. We welcome established, reputable professionals dedicated to quality and service to our ranks. We also welcome reputable younger businesses who desire to learn and grow their business effectively and professionally, via our Associate Member program.

ALWEP provides a framework for networking, continuing education, and collaborative marketing which promotes individual members, as well as the group as a whole. Additionally, our members work together to mutually develop and enforce guidelines and encourage ethical business practices which uphold the highest standards of professionalism and service in our industry. Regular meetings are held on the third Tuesday evening of each month, excepting December, at various locations in the Birmingham metro area. ALWEP also sponsors and promotes special programs during the year.

Owing to our desire to uphold the highest quality, membership in ALWEP is invitational. Vendors are invited to extend an application by the Board of Directors, upon recommendation of the Membership Committee. Factors considered by the committee include reputation amongst peers, length of time in business, and the number of existing ALWEP members in that particular category.

Members must be engaged in the wedding or special event industry in Alabama as their primary occupation. Part-time vendors are not considered. Members need not be headquartered in Alabama, but must have a permanent location in Alabama in order to qualify. Applicants must carry and submit a current business license and certificate of commercial liability insurance.
