I’ve Been Featured in Borrowed and Blue

Deep South Rabbi recently teamed up with BORROWED AND BLUE, a locally focused online wedding resource, to give couples everything they need to know about wedding officiant/minister services.

Here’s Borrowed & Blue’s Q&A with Rabbi Barry Altmark of Deep South Rabbi:

  1. How long have you been performing weddings? Five years.
  2. Where do you perform weddings?
Mostly the deep south (Atlanta, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Florida Panhandle) but I have travelled all over the United States doing weddings.
  3. Do you allow couples to personalize their ceremony?
Yes, I encourage my couples to write their own vows and incorporate any readings, poetry and blessings they wish.
  4. Do you perform interfaith wedding ceremonies? Yes.
  5. How much do you charge? I start at $700.
  6. Do you charge an extra traveling fee?
Sometimes, it depends on where and when the event is.
  7. How do couples book you?
When we Facetime, Skype or telephone with each other, I’ll sign up my couples.
  8. Will you attend the wedding rehearsal? For an extra fee if I’m available.
  9. Any advice for couples deciding on a wedding officiant?
When choosing an officiant make sure you speak with that person and express your religious beliefs, spirituality and shared interests. You should do most of the talking. Make sure you ask the candidate whatever comes to mind dealing with the ceremony. This is not the time to be shy.

Thanks again to BORROWED & BLUE for the Q&A!
